ARROYO EL POTRILLO / The cleaning experience

"El Potrillo" stream cleaning

When we go to clean a stream / Arroyo (River without water) for the first time, we do not imagine what we will find in these places. They contain all types of garbage, such as glass, plastic, polystyrene, dead animals, construction debris, even toilet paper, as well as human and animal solid waste.

Paz del Alma Ochoa Amador / Elected Mayor 2024-2027

We know that this concern is shared by the administration of the elected mayor Paz Ochoa, we have seen that she and her team of followers have been meeting periodically in recent weeks to clean different streams / arroyos in Loreto with the aim of preventing the arrival during the hurricane season, these debris end up adorning and polluting our Sea of Cortez.

As an organized society, we have not been able to understand when the streambeds became clandestine garbage dumps for our community in Loreto, but it has been an environmental problem that we have had for decades in our community.

From this experience we inevitably ask ourselves what can we do as an organized society to avoid this problem? Is it going to clean ourselves periodically a true and only solution?

what can we do to reduce or eliminate the increase in clandestine garbage in our Loretano's streams, and keep loreto magical?

  1. Ask our local authorities for continued supervision im stream / arroyos areas.

  2. If you see a person dumping trash, please call the Municipal Police (Tel: 613 135 0035)

  3. If you have construction trash, please make sure it goes to the Municipal Dump, it is located only 7 KM north from Loreto.

  4. Organize your clean up. Call us, We will Help!

With these simple but effective measures, we can help prevent all trash from ending up in our oceans.

It does not matter where you are from. It Only matters that you Care!
